Innocent life must be protected, plain and simple. Louisiana is consistently ranked as the most pro-life state in the nation, and it's not by accident. Governor Jindal is proud of the countless pieces of legislation he has signed, strengthening Louisiana's proud culture of life.

* In January of 2015, Americans United for Life ranked Louisiana as the most pro-life state for the 6th year in a row.
* In 2014, Governor Jindal signed legislation prohibiting abortion providers and their employees from disseminating materials or providing instruction at Louisiana public and he signed legislation requiring physicians to perform an ultrasound, to describe the images generated by the ultrasound to the mother, and to provide each mother the opportunity to view the ultrasound of her baby and to hear its fetal heartbeat prior to undergoing an abortion.
* He also signed legislation requiring abortion providers to inform women about the psychological effects of having an abortion and to direct them to available counseling services before and after performing any procedure.
